About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Public Health Service as a COVID-19 Educator and Workforce Planner in the COVID-19 Response team. Are you passionate about providing opportunities for staff to develop skills and knowledge that can contribute towards a high performing team? Do you have experience in adult education? Then this could be the role for you!
You will be part of a team of people working across the Southern district who are undertaking Covid-19 cases investigations, contact tracing and outbreak management work (either in Southern or in other parts of NZ). There may be times where support is required for other communicable disease outbreaks that occur across the district.
In this role you will identify and develop a plan for education that will meet the learning needs of the COVID-19 response team and the wider service. You will provide leadership in the area of supporting the training requirements of new and existing staff in the processes and systems that will enable them to work effectively as a team and independently.
There will be times where you must be able to work between 8 – 10 hours a day in a 7-day a week roster. There are part time and full-time work opportunities. Short-term contracts are available. There are offices based in Dunedin, Queenstown and Invercargill.
About You
You will have experience with working in adult education or a something similar. You will be using the National Contact Tracing Solution (NCTS) information technology so excellent IT skills is essential. On the job training for all NCTS or other online platforms will be provided, but it’s essential that you have the following attributes to be contributing member of this team.
Attributes needed:
- Understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and applying this to your work.
- Have an equity focus on all the work you do.
- Need to be very tech savvy – we use several online platforms.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Great organisational skills.
- Able to follow direction.
- An eye for detail and ability to motivate others.
- Able to work well within a team and autonomously.
- Adaptable to work in a rapidly changing environment and pivot accordingly.
- Enjoys a challenge and committed to making continuous improvements.
- Experience in coordinating, facilitation and delivery of trainings to adults.
