This is a permanent part time position of 20 core hours per week.
Tasks must be done from the office in central Christchurch. It requires occasional evening or weekend engagements. There is flexibility in the work hours.

Position Description
Key Tasks
Volunteer Coordination
- Co-ordinate the volunteers to deliver helpline, education, online mentoring and social media services
- Recruit, co-train, support and exit volunteers
- Provide a supportive relationship over the long term of each person’s journey through their time here
Education
- Co-ordinate the delivery of training to young people
- Recruit and support volunteers to deliver workshops to young people
- Deliver or co-facilitate workshops when volunteers not available
Ideal Person Specifications
Qualifications and Education
- Youth Work or equivalent qualification to at least Diploma level
- Membership of the appropriate professional association
- Youth Development training
- Tutoring training (short course or certificate) preferred
Skills and Experience
- Several years’ experience co-ordinating volunteers or youth groups
- High public speaking and workshop presentation skills
- Ability to relate to, and care for young people
- Excellent facility with Information Technology, including office applications and social media
- Flexible attitude to working hours, a can-do culture and the ability to work calmly under pressure
- An ability to be self-directed and take initiative appropriately
- Bi and Cross-cultural competence
