Mō te tūranga | About the role
We are looking for a Nurse Educator to step into this 0.6 FTE permanent role to continue to support new and existing staff within the ED department with the provision of education, training and resources that ensure practice is current, evidence based and fit for purpose.
A born communicator and collaborator, with the inherent ability to build successful working relationships, this role will see you working alongside nurses, medical colleagues as well as other educators within the wider PDU team to provide practice and professional development opportunities that enhance service delivery, quality, and safety alongside improved patient outcomes.

Hold considerable post registration experience in nursing
Professional credibility in the clinical setting with the confidence and passion for supporting and developing our nurses.
Participating in the recruitment of new nurses, developing, and implementing their orientation programme
Have first-rate knowledge of the professional standards and regulations for Nurses
Superior written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
It is essential that you are a Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate and either hold or be working towards an appropriate postgraduate qualification.
If you are a networker, a leader, and a role model; with recognised teaching, mentoring and coaching skills, have a sound knowledge of ED processes; and you align with Southern DHBs values and objectives then we welcome your interest in joining our team.

This role belongs to the DHBs/NZNO Nursing and Midwifery Multi-Employer Collective Agreement (1 August 2020 – 31 October 2022), Designated Senior Nurses Scale, Grade 3, and falls between Step 1 ($92,687 p.a) and Step 3 ($102,178 p.a pro rata).
