Job title: Academic Developer
Salary: $30 – $45 per hour
Hours: Hired on part-time basis (approximately 20 hours a week)
Location: Primarily working from home available but ideal candidate can travel to Parramatta NSW 2150
Purpose of the position
Successful candidates in this role will be authoring MANA’s first iteration of our Mathematic Advanced and Extension 1 textbooks. We are looking for team members able to translate our vision using LaTeX and can work well in non-office environments. This is a temporary role with large chance of being signed onto a permanent role after the initial contract.
Responsibilities and duties
Responsibility 1 – Writing detailed and easy-to-follow explanations on Math Advanced and Extension 1 syllabus dot points. Contributions to course structure will be appreciated and dutifully noted.
Responsibility 2 – Compiling questions for use in textbook as samples, homework, and exam use. You will also need to write worked solutions for these questions. Academic developers will need to be able to use LaTeX software confidently, possesses strong written communication skills and work from home effectively.
Work standard: All work is too be reviewed on a weekly basis and compared against a timeline.
Academic and trade qualifications
Essential qualifications
- Proficiency in LaTeX
- In-depth knowledge of Math Advanced and Extension 1 HSC syllabus
- Ability to write explanations in a way that conveys understanding for all types of students
Work experience and skills
Essential experience
- Experience with writing Academic material
- Have completed or are in the process of completing a degree in Education or Mathematics
Desirable qualifications
- Any experience in the schooling system is not necessary but will be considered
- Experience with private or organised tuition
Job Types: Part-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 10 – 12 weeks
Part-time hours: 15 – 25 per week
Salary: $700.00 – $1,000.00 per week
