The role
Elderslea in Upper Hutt is looking for a part time Assistant Cook to join their busy kitchen team, providing meals to 125 elderly residents. We are seeking someone who is flexible and available to work at least three rostered shifts a week (including weekends). Additional hours may be available and occasionally kitchen hand duties may be incorporated into the role.
What you’ll be doing:
- Expressing your creativity and passion for cooking
- Delivering top class customer service to a high standard and quality
- Supporting the provisions of foodservice operations under the direction of senior management
- Constantly learning and developing your skills/knowledge
- Working rostered hours with casual shifts available
What you’ll bring:
- A passion for cooking and serving meals that not only look great but taste amazing
- Experience of cooking in a commercial kitchen, however training will be given
- Excellent customer and people relationship skills
- Knowledge of producing safe food, health & safety at work and hygiene
- A positive ‘can do attitude’, always ready to go the extra mile
- A team first attitude with flexibility
- Respect for resident confidentiality
- The ability to work rostered shifts
- The right to work in NZ.
