Assistant Head of Year (Boarding) – Pymble NSW

Pymble Ladies’ College is a school of the Uniting Church in Australia for girls Kindergarten to Year 12 with boarding from Year 7. At Pymble, we foster a world-class educational environment with the importance of global citizenship and a worldwide perspective central to our strategic intent.

We are seeking a mature, positive, and proactive individual to join our Boarding team as an Assistant Head of Year (Boarding) on a permanent, part-time basis, working 30 hours per week for 40 weeks of the year (term time plus 2 weeks).

You will be responsible for providing support for the operational aspects of the Boarding House, ensuring that our students are safe and cared for in a tight-knit and home-like environment. You’ll be assigned to a specific year group and will work collaboratively with the Head of Year (Boarding) and the leadership team. So our Boarders have round-the-clock care, you will be provided a private room with ensuite in our Boarding houses for shifts where you would need to stay overnight while on duty.

While providing exemplary care to facilitate the holistic wellbeing of our Boarders, you would also have the opportunity to support the administrative function of the Boarding Houses and further develop positive and productive relationships across the College community.

You will demonstrate the following attributes and capabilities:

• Previous experience in supporting and mentoring young people.
• Demonstrated passion for working with students in a residential setting dedicated to supporting their physical, emotional, spiritual, academic and social needs.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills to sustain and develop quality and supportive relationships with Boarders, parents and staff.
• Relevant Boarding specific qualifications including First Aid, Youth Mental Health First Aid, Duty of Care and Boarding Fundamentals are desirable. Training may be provided to the successful candidate.

The successful candidate must comply with any current Public Health Order requirements and have a Working with Children Check clearance.
