Woodland Road Public School is located in St Helens Park, 5 km south of Campbelltown.

Our feed areas of Bradbury, Airds, St Helens Park and Wedderburn, are suburbs which are diverse in social and economic context, yet connected by the school. Set in an attractive, spacious, natural environment the school strives to provide quality teaching and learning programs to move children beyond their potential.

The student population of 280, includes children of Aboriginal descent (13%), children with a language background other than English (27%) as well as children requiring additional support in learning, mobility and social skills.

The school motto “Grow with Love and Learning” is clearly demonstrated by students achieving success in a caring environment. With a focus on literacy and numeracy our experienced staff is able to differentiate learning to cater for the needs of the individual.

Future focussed skills are balanced with fundamentals, creative arts and sport to provide each child’s education through active involvement in the P & C Association, community events and classroom activities.

In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.

1. Proven ability to lead the implementation of high quality, differentiated and innovative literacy and numeracy programs based on evidence-based practices and effective assessment and data analysis.

2. Capacity to balance exemplary classroom teaching practice with the complexities of a leadership role.

3. Demonstrated ability to build capacity in others and lead early career and experienced teachers to create a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and high expectations, using data driven practices to guide and inform teaching.

4. Demonstrated high level of emotional intelligence and superior interpersonal skills to best meet the diverse wellbeing needs of students, staff and the wider community to build upon a positive and inclusive school.

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal education policies

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

From 8 November 2021 all Department of Education employees undertaking relevant work, including any work conducted on a NSW school site, will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The successful candidate for this position will be required to confirm full vaccination status prior to the Department of Education finalising the appointment of the candidate and entry on duty.
