Te kāinga rua | The opportunity

From first impressions for clients to a range of support to our expanding team, our Branch Administrator is integral to the success of the team and the work we do. We are a tight-knit team, working in different specialities across engineering and project management. Twenty people call our Queenstown office home and we are growing, while still small enough to enjoy working and socialising together.

As part of this team, the current opportunity is to be the welcoming face and branch administrator for our Queenstown Branch, located on Ballarat Street. As the first point of contact for visitors to Beca and in delivering support to internal team members, this role will give exposure to how our business operates and what makes Beca special. Each day will be varied and provide new challenges. Overall you can expect to be involved with:

  • Supporting the team with a variety of administration tasks
  • Document formatting, editing and filing
  • Managing front-line office responsibilities, being the welcoming face to our clients and visitors
  • Coordinating arrangements and catering for meetings and other events
  • Management of consumables from stationary to the kitchen and everything in between
  • Looking after our fleet vehicles

Or typically all of this and more. Very much part of a team, there will be overlap between roles in the southern corporate services team, creating opportunities for even more learning and variety across the southern region. We envisage this role to be 20 hours per week and are happy to have a conversation about your preferred hours across the week to help you balance work and your other commitments.

Te rongoā | About you

Office or corporate services experience will be welcomed or, if you bring the right attitude, enthusiasm and energy, we will develop your knowledge in the Beca ways of doing things. You will be confident to represent our professional organisation to our clients, both internal and external and eager to advance your career in a progressive and ever-changing business.

Proficient in Microsoft 365, you’ll be curious to learn new technology and tools. You’ll be a team player and enjoy presenting the professional, welcoming first impression to our clients, keeping the office to a high presentable standard, and extending this customer-experience focus to customers within the business. You enjoy variety and relish opportunities to jump in where needed, recognising and responding to shifting priorities across the team. Your initiative and commitment to become involved and take an active role in the goals and culture of the team will ensure your success and enjoyment in the role.
