The RNSH Emergency Department is seeking an experienced tertiary ED nurse to provide clinical guidance and expertise in the role of Clinical Nurse Educator. The role is full time for 12 months.
Where you’ll be working
RNSH Emergency Department features Adult and Paediatric Resuscitation and Trauma Bays, Acute Adult, Paediatric, Fast Track, and an Emergency Medical Unit. We are also a principal tertiary referral centre as well as a New South Wales Major Trauma Centre which sees us treat a larger proportion of high complexity presentations. The CNE will be involved with the Transition to Emergency Programme for 2nd year RNs as well as all other educational programmes in the ED providing a focus on development and consolidation of emergency nursing skills, clinical leadership skills, critical thinking and clinical decision making, effective communication and a greater understanding of pathophysiology and anatomy.
What you’ll be doing
The Clinical Nurse Educator will be guided by the Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Consultant in leading, developing, co-ordinated and implementing all structured learning for nurses within NSLHD.
The Clinical Nurse Educator will provide clinical teaching, orientation, skill accreditation and professional development support for all nursing staff and students.
The Clinical Nurse Educator will have a role in the provision of hospital orientation and mandatory training. They will also be expected to teach in courses appropriate to nursing within and at facilities external to NSLHD.
The Clinical Nurse Educator will participate in the development and teaching of the NSLHD Nursing Professional Development Program (this includes travelling to other sites within the LHD for lecturing and facilitation of workshops).

Remuneration: $1,914.00 – $1,976.10 per week
