Palliative Aged Residential Care
The Nurse Maude Hospice Palliative Care Service provides specialised care and support for patients who have a life limiting illness using a multidisciplinary approach. Care is centred on the needs of patients and their families/whanau and embraces the physical, social, emotional and spiritual elements of wellbeing – tinana, whanau, hinengaro and wairua – and aims to enhance quality of life.
We have a 0.8FTE permanent Clinical Nurse Specialist position available in our Palliative Aged Residential Care Service.
The key candidate would be an experienced Registered Nurse with at least 3 years post registration experience; a post graduate diploma in palliative care or gerontology (or actively working towards) is preferable and with a keen interest in palliative care and aged care.
The successful applicant is required to have an in-depth knowledge of specialist palliative care whilst working alongside aged residential care staff providing education, expert advice, coaching and support.
Key to this role is the empowerment of staff working in Aged Residential Care Facilities. The successful candidate will have experience with assessment and review of patients with complex needs alongside the ability to build networks and excellent relationships with staff within these facilities.
