Introduction

Are you a connected influencer with a passion for your district community? New Plymouth District Council (NPDC) is looking for a Community Partnerships Adviser. You will join a specialist team that provides strategic direction and capacity building support for NPDC’s work with its community partners, stakeholders and communities, to achieve NPDC’s Community Outcomes.

This part-time, permanent role will focus on providing specialist advice and capability support to ensure NPDC’s partnerships, community investments, and engagement initiatives are of a high quality and deliver multiple benefits. You will be a positive, self-motivated person who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment and can inspire others to think and act differently.

To be successful in this position you will have a tertiary qualification in a community or policy related discipline, along with;

An ability to see the big picture and think strategically, including the development, implementation, and integration of Council strategies, plans and policies

Excellent relationship and interpersonal skills

Excellent stakeholder management across government, community, education and industry sectors

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in report writing
