NZCare and Geneva Community Living have come together to form NZCommunity Living, an organisation dedicated to supporting people with disabilities in New Zealand. Our Disability Support Services reflect our belief that all New Zealanders deserve to live fully, have equal opportunities, and achieve their ambitions.
We are looking for Permanent full time and part time Support Workers to help the people we support in our Lower and Upper Hutt residential services. This is a 24/7 roster Monday to Sunday which includes working overnight and alternate weekends. This will suit people who are looking for flexibility and more regular longer shifts in one place.
What does a Support Worker do?
In Residential disability our support workers assist people who access our services to live as independently as possible, in their community. Support workers are part of a team who work shifts or specific rosters providing 24/7 cover with responsibilities including aiding with personal care, community outings and integration, and other aspects of daily living – enabling our people to be as independent as possible.

What are we looking for?
- A desire to support our people to learn new skills and achieve outcomes
- Prior experience supporting others with aspects of daily living, preferably those living with intellectual or physical disabilities
- Full driver’s license and confidence to safely transport passengers in our disability vans (training provided)
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends
