Kia ora,
Are you a reliable person with a bit of life experience? Are you able to think on your feet and love working with the public? Do you have a clean full driver’s licence? If so, we would love to hear from you.
We are currently recruiting for about 50 casual positions to support the roll out of COVID-19 rapid antigen tests.
Over the coming days and weeks, we will be setting up mobile sites across the region, where people will be able to access rapid antigen tests. These sites will operate 7 days a week, to enable eligible essential workers to collect the tests and take them home to administer. You won’t need to administer the test so you don’t need a clinical background.
We are looking for people who:
- enjoy dealing with the public
- love a bit of uncertainty as you never know what each day will bring
- are great communicators – you will need to check people’s eligibility to receive tests and provide information about how the tests work
- have a clean, full drivers license and be comfortable driving and parking a large campervan
- are comfortable learning and using simple IT systems
- available immediately and for at least 3 days a week (preferably more); we don’t have a start date yet but its likely we will need to move quickly once we have the green light.
What would be involved in a typical shift?
The shift hours will likely be 08.00 to 16.30. You will need to be at a central city location by 8.00am to pick up the campervans and get a briefing of your day ahead. From there you will head out in your camper (with 1 or 2 other people) to your designated site, which could include Wellington, Porirua, Petone, Kapiti or the Hutt Valley. When you arrive at your location you will set up the site (this includes putting up tables and chairs, erecting an awning) and then distribute tests to members of the public during the designated operating hours. At the end of each shift you will return the camper to a central city location.
Please note this is likely to be a short term role only – maybe a few weeks, maybe a few months.
If this sounds like you, please send your CV and 2 referees to rio.allan@alphajobs.co.nz ASAP. We will then be in touch for a further chat if you are shortlisted.
