About the role
The Central Sterilising Department (CSD) Technician / Assistant will be responsible for the reprocessing of reusable surgical instruments for the Operating Theatre and outlying services. You will monitor, track and keep accurate records, and communicate effectively to identify any faults, missing or required maintenance of equipment.
About you
You will be an excellent team player and able to work accurately under pressure with limited supervision. Furthermore, you will be committed to delivering the highest standards to ensure patient safety.
You will also demonstrate and have the following skills and experiences:
- Minimum NZQA level 3 Sterilising certificate or equivalent experience preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Knowledge of assembly and disassembly, assessing functionality of surgical instruments preferred
- Knowledge of Sterilising machinery and an ability to troubleshoot machinery issues preferred
