Do you have a positive/can do outlook, a genuine interest and previous experience working with clients with substance use issues? Then come and join our collaborative and friendly team at CADS, where you’ll be working in an addictions team, based in Dunedin.
About the Role
As part of this dedicated team you’ll have your own case load of clients receiving Opioid Substitution Treatment who are under the General Practitioner Authority (GPA) Branch of the Opioid Substitution Treatment (OST) programme, this will be the main role of the position. There will also be the possibility, and at times expectation of providing new assessments, walk-in clinics and the opportunity to co-facilitate therapeutic groups.
You’ll have regular contact with General Practitioners, DHB Mental Health Services and external NGO’s, so you must be an excellent communicator who is adept at interacting with your clients, colleagues and external organisations, always striving to ensure the best results.
You will bring to this role a solid understanding of addiction issues and experience in working with clients with co-existing-problems (CEP) and you’ll be able to demonstrate strength in assessment, treatment planning, documentation and collaborative decision making.

Our ideal candidate would be a Registered Nurse with Drug and Alcohol experience, however if you are a Registered Mental Health Professional (Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, or DAPAANZ registered clinician) we would be happy to hear from you. It is desirable that you hold appropriate addiction specific qualifications.
