We are made up of four complementary companies – Firstgas, Gas Services NZ, Flexgas and Rockgas. The names say it all, we’re in the business of ‘gas’. More specifically, we own and operate the pipes, storage, tanks, cylinders and trucks that deliver natural gas or LPG to about 165,000 customers across the country. We’re also about the future – exploring alternative energy sources that are sustainable, environmentally friendly and deliver to New Zealand’s energy needs in a changing world.

Not only will you get to be part of an exciting project that delivers value; you’ll also be earning the living wage and working alongside our talented team in Bell Block.
This role is more than just an internship – expect to get out and about in the field, access to support that will grow you both personally and professionally, as well as contribute to community initiatives that we support.
Our shortlisted candidates will be invited to our Assessment Day on 31 August 2022 (we’ll sort your flights/accommodation to New Plymouth).
To be successful in this summer role you’ll need:
- To be studying towards your Engineering degree (mechanical or other disciplines) – preferably in your 2nd year+.
- A motivated problem solver.
- An eagerness to develop and learn (and teach us a thing or two along the way).
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team and work independently.
