Our Ward 3 Surgical is looking for Healthcare Assistants to join their multidisciplinary team on a part time, permanent basis to provide support in a busy yet rewarding work environment.
Mō te tūranga | About the role
In this important role you will help with a range of direct and non-direct patient care tasks under the direction of a registered nurse and maintain the ward environment to ensure efficient and effective functioning including:
- Patient supervision and/or movement
- Restocking and setting up of equipment
- General ward housekeeping
- Supporting our nurses and other members of the healthcare team
- Clerical duties as required
- Stock reconciliation
Hours of work are Monday to Sunday rostered shifts.
Mōu ake | About you
The successful applicant will be:
- Well organised, with a positive “can do” attitude and be able to communicate clearly and openly
- Must be able to take direction from a variety of staff
- Experience working with people in the health sector and/or experience or knowledge of customer service is desirable
- Being comfortable with using computers is preferred, and full training of our systems will be given

This role belongs to the NZNO Collective Agreement on the Health Care Assistant scale between Step 1 ($46,182 p.a prorata) and Step 5 ($53,803 p.a prorata).
