About the opportunity:
Our client was established over 35 years ago and pride themselves on being one of the most capable truck and trailer workshops in New Zealand. They are looking to add a Heavy Vehicle Fabricator to join their team in fabricating new heavy transport vehicles and completing repairs and maintenance to existing fleets of tipping trucks and trailers.
Responsibilities will include:

Interpret drawings and fabricate/assemble accordingly.

Adhere to safe work practices
-
Fabricate sections and components from sheet metal, pipes, weld, screw, rivet, and bolt components together to form finished products.

Attach axles, suspension assemblies, steering columns, and brakes.
-
Carry out alterations to chassis in accordance with engineering specifications.

Fit mechanical components such as winches, cranes, and hoists
This role will suit someone with the following background/experience/qualities:
-
Must be capable of passing a welding test and provide references for past experience

Experience in Fabrication & MIG welding
-
Ability to read and understand drawings
-
A solid work ethic and be able to work in a team environment

Ability to follow instructions and produce quality work
