EIT is seeking a suitably qualified Learning Advisor who will provide academic learning support in a wide range of formats – both face-to-face and online – to all learners studying at EIT.
We are looking for strengths in mathematics and the sciences, as well as matauranga Māori.
You will support learner retention and success and provide pastoral care, advice and guidance, to ensure a positive learning experience that is welcoming and valuing of learners from diverse backgrounds, drawing on your experience working with Māori and Pasifika students, and using demonstrated strengths in te reo and tikanga Māori.
You will provide
- workshops, tutorials, in-class support, group and individual learning support in a variety of formats including on-line.
- learning support to strategically targeted learner groups and to learners who self-refer and to those who are referred by staff.
- pastoral support as appropriate to EIT learners, and monitor and report on progress
In addition you will actively participate in the development and implementation of strategies for learner support and record support activities in central databases.
Ideally you will have:
· ability and experience in providing appropriate support to students in the tertiary education environment.
· a background in mathematics and the sciences.
· experience in working with Māori and Pasifika students.
