Junior Designer – Wellington City, Wellington

We’re looking for a great Designer to join our team. Someone young, enthusiastic, and with a great desire to gain experience. Most important have the ability to take on a new challenge Our projects are varied and range from events marketing material, corporate communications, illustrative, promotional, brand development, and digital/web design.

We are looking for a hands-on Junior designer who is friendly and keen to work with a tight-knit team. The ideal candidate will be naturally creative and proudly professional – attention to detail and craft is key. A strong portfolio showing conceptual and appropriate design solutions across print and digital.

You will be timely and efficient when it comes to production-style projects too. Bring your high-level technical skills and creative mind and get stuck in!

• Have marketing research, strategy, and designed experiences.

• Experience in gathering design research and business requirements from multiple sources and working closely with the marketing team, as a part of an in-house team designer.
• Building websites from scratch, from concept to completion to responsive websites, multiple devices from desktop to mobile version, Wix, and Webflow are essential.
• Maintaining website functionalities and accessibilities, improving existing functions, building exciting new features, work collaborating with developers.
• Ability to create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and UI components, reporting to the director. Familiar with the design thinking process, ability to work with Figma or Adobe XD
• Experienced to deliver large-scale digital design and marketing materials, such as graphic motions, events design, banners, posters, brochures, printing materials, and business proposals.
• Solid graphic design skills, applying illustrations, and following branding guidelines design to deliver design solutions.
• Ability to create multiple design templates to deliver digital design, such as social media posts, graphic design mockups, and mood boards.
• Retouching photos, basic skills of editing videos, and creating storyboards.

Skills and experience:

• Relevant industry design experience in UI, Web or Graphic design.
• Degree/diploma in graphic design or relevant experience.
• A good portfolio of work demonstrating of graphic design or digital design business projects.
• A good understanding of general business practices, work with design research to supply prototypes to stakeholders.
• An understanding of user-centered design methodologies and ability to create UI designs.
• Experience using tools from Adobe Creative Suite and website building tools, such as Illustrator, Photoshop, XD and Figma.
• Basic understanding of front-end languages: HTML5, CSS3 or Javascript.
