Mō te tūnga | About the role
We are looking for Kaiāwhina/Health Care Assistant (HCA) on a fixed-term basis until December 15th, 2022. You will be responsible for providing support to services to deliver effective, efficient and quality consumer focussed care. Moving across the Canterbury Health System (Christchurch Hospital, Burwood Hospital, Hillmorton Hospital, The Princess Margaret Hospital, Rural Hospitals, Aged Residential Care Facilities or community settings). Kaiāwhina/HCA will ensure the promotion of good health and independence for the Canterbury population.
- Tasks will include consumer care activities under direction from health professionals and may include but are not limited to assisting with meals, cleaning, supply distribution and may include administrative duties
Work would be at varying locations across Canterbury and you will be working rostered shifts, which can be mornings, afternoons or evenings, 7 days a week.

You will enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team, have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, a high level of confidentiality, and the ability to work well under pressure.
