Mō te tūnga | About the role
This part-time 0.5 FTE Nurse Educator position will primarily support the workforce development of NESP nurses in practice, including through liaison with the NESP preceptors and clinical team members. As a person who lives and breathes Te Ao Māori, there will be a huge focus on growing and developing our Māori nursing workforce; and an opportunity to deliver monthly wānanga sessions that will highlight integral aspects and values of Te Ao Māori along with the importance of partnership in culturally inclusive healthcare.
Pehea | About You
You will be an experienced registered nurse who is invested in and committed to the continual development of others, with a particular passion in sharing your lived experiences within Te Ao Māori and a clinical environment. You will further bring with you an aptitude for innovation and a desire to work in a collaborative manner within a multidisciplinary setting.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience:
- Registered with NCNZ including scope to practice in Mental Health and a current APC
- Currently possess or working towards a post graduate qualification in nursing or education
- A deep understanding of Te Ao Māori me ōna tikanga
- Knowledge, pronunciation and use of te reo Māori beneficial
- Experience in supporting nursing students or NESPs in clinical practice
