The School of Computing offers a range of programmes from Certificate through to Masters level to more than 800 students across multiple campuses.
We are seeking an outstanding learning facilitator with a passion for supporting our learners to succeed.
You will support learners on the Taradale campus completing the New Zealand Certificate in Computing (NZCC) L2 and L3 Flexible Programmes by:
- Working alongside students and encouraging them with their learning
- Assisting students to engage with their course work
- Responding to questions from students about their learning projects, tasks and the like
Other duties include:
- Ensuring that the teaching facility is fully functional, safe and prepared for class
- Providing student mentorship.
- Identifying students with learning issues and referring to programme co-ordinator
- Following up students who haven’t been attending classes to find out if there are any problems
To be successful in this role it is essential that you have empathy for students, competence in the use of Microsoft Office, knowledge and understanding of the disability sector and understanding and respect for student health and wellbeing. A relevant qualification would be an advantage.
