Fixed Term, Part-time (0.5 FTE), commencing February 2022.
The School of Language and Culture seeks applications for a part time (0.5) Fixed Term Lecturer in NZ Sign Language and Deaf Culture.
The Lecturer, under the guidance of the Programme Leader, will contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of high quality teaching and learning experiences for our students.
The successful applicant will
- be fully fluent in NZSL and fully immersed in Deaf Culture
- have teaching expertise at both pre-degree and undergraduate levels in the areas of NZSL and Deaf Culture
- have a sound knowledge of what constitutes effective learning and teaching
- hold a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree, although a Certificate in Deaf Studies or equivalent is acceptable
This position presents an opportunity to join a productive and innovative NZSL team based in AUT’s City campus, although classes might also be taught in the North and South campuses.
