About the role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a junior – intermediate legal administration assistant to join our Finance team based in our Sydney office. We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and capable person to join our inclusive culture. Candidates with an interest in building a legal career who may be currently studying and wish to work in an administration role are encouraged to apply.
As a junior legal administration assistant, you will be part of a busy practice assisting the team in all areas of administrative support, including, but not limited to: managing crucial team administration; handling client queries; and managing the monthly billing process.
What does being a legal assistant look like?
Our junior assistants are involved in work that is dynamic and varied in nature and which is designed to build your skills and capability in legal administration. Your primary role will be to assist the practice group with administrative tasks and you will play a pivotal role within the team in ensuring the practice runs smoothly.
On any given day you could be:
- Providing administrative support to partners and fee earners in the practice group
- Preparing documents and correspondence
- Managing diaries, coordinating appointments and meetings, booking conference rooms and catering
- Assisting with the monthly billing process
- Undertaking team filing
- Assisting with confidential firm information and opening new matters
- Assisting and inputting client data into client relationship software (Interaction)
- Handling client queries
You will have a comprehensive induction program and you will be supported by senior secretaries from across the office who will mentor you and ensure you are getting exposure to all aspects of the role.

Being a team player, you demonstrate strong problem solving skills and take pride in your work.
Strong Microsoft Office skills are essential, as are excellent communication skills. You are willing to learn automated billing systems and client relationship management software (Elite and InterAction).
