About the Role
We are looking for a General Practitioner with a special interest in OST to work part time, 22 hours a week, and one of the days worked must be a Tuesday. The position is based in New Plymouth with clinics in Stratford, Opunake and Hawera once a month.
The post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary team. Their responsibilities will include the following:
- Medical assessment of OST clients
- Advice on patient management.
- Initiate and continue treatment for those clients assessed by the team, particularly
- those hidden populations that are often difficult to reach
- Formal medical review of patients.
- Seamless transition for clients between services as required.
- Participation in audit and quality improvement activities

About You
You will be expected to have:
- FRANZGP or equivalent
- At least 1-year experience in psychiatry and an additional psychiatry qualification are desirable.
- An interest in doing the diploma in addictions will be desirable.
