Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Nurse Practitioner to join Mauri Ora, Student Health Service, on a permanent basis. The Nurse Practitioner will help Mauri Ora achieve its goals by providing high-quality, accessible and flexible student-centred clinics with enhanced continuity of care and whanaungatanga for students, as well as supporting key student equity groups (Maori, Pasifika and LGBTQIA+) by developing and tailoring services for them.

You will be a highly organised self-starter and natural relationship builder, who relishes working autonomously as well as contributing positively to a high performing team. You will need effective time management and forward planning to balance your clinic and maintain a high standard of service to our students. The ability to remain calm under pressure and thrive working with a diverse range of individuals will go far in this position.
Key Requirements:
A current practising annual certificate within the scope of Nurse Practitioner.
Evidence of satisfactory current medical indemnity (NZNO or equivalent cover).
A current CPR certificate.
Demonstrates advanced up-to-date clinical decision-making processes and patient care.
Significant senior level experience working in primary health, mental health and sexual health; youth/young adult health expertise.
Excellent understanding of, commitment to and enjoyment of working with a university student population; knowledge and understanding of youth development models and an ability to interact positively with students to foster resilience, personal safety and academic success.
Ability to work well as part of multi-disciplinary team.
Commitment to working within the Te Tiriti o Waitangi; understanding of partnership and cultural safety.
Ability to manage own workload efficiently, be self-directed and innovative.
