About us:
Presbyterian Support Southland (PSS) is a Charitable Trust and is the largest social service and aged care provider in Southland. PSS encompasses two service arms – Family Works, which offers a range of social services, from counselling and social work support, through to buddy and parenting programmes, and Enliven, which provides a range of services for our elderly. We work to enable a positive and lasting change for everyone in our community and offer support services to people regardless of their beliefs, ethnicity or background.
Resthaven is a peaceful care home ideally located in the heart of Gore. Positioned on a large site with lovely gardens and views across the Eastern Southland hills, Resthaven offers peace, tranquillity and a high standard of care. With close proximity to local amenities and public transport residents can remain close to their family and friends.
About the role:
We are looking for a permanent part time Pastoral Visitor to join our team at Enliven Resthaven Village (7.5 hours per week). Reporting to the Supported Living and Community Services Manager they will be responsible for ensuring the pastoral needs of the Residents and their family/whanau are being meet.
Key responsibilities:
This role will include a range of tasks including but not limited to:

  • To provide pastoral care to the Residents of Enliven Resthaven Village
  • To actively promote weekly services
  • To coordinate blessings of rooms
  • To follow up with family/whanau following a death

What you will need to be successful in the role:

  • Previous experience in a pastoral care role
  • Experience working with the elderly and their family/whanau
  • Empathy and respect for the cultural and religious needs of our residents and their family/whanau
  • A commitment to providing services in the spirit of the Treaty of Waitangi.
