The Sector Operations Team is central to the funding of Health services in New Zealand. Spread across three locations, our people come from a wide range of backgrounds but all have a positive attitude and great customer service in common. Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

As a Payments Officer, you will be our customers first impression when they contact the Ministry of Health for support around health payments. You will answer queries from the public and Health Sector specialists such as practice managers, pharmacists and doctors. You’ll turn up each day to deliver a consistent and positive customer experience, over phone and email.

Delivering an exceptional service for our customers is key for us so we want people who have a real passion for making a difference. You’ll be part of a team of like minded people who will help you to be the best you can be. At the end of each day you’ll go home knowing you’ve made a genuine difference to our customers.

What you need to be successful

  • Be Customer focused – you will provide a positive experience to every customer you interact with.
  • Attention to detail – you’ll be an active listener who can pick out the key details that will help our customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication- you’ll be someone who is a natural communicator and who is confident with people from all different walks of life
  • Do the mahi, get the rewards – this role is a great introduction to the wider Health Sector and stepping stone towards an exciting career for those who are keen to learn.
  • Understanding of basic financial concepts is a bonus – eg GST. We can teach these if you don’t have them but if you do, you’ll hit the ground running.
  • We also have great flexible working options available which include being able to split your work time between the office and home.

These roles are in band 12 with a midpoint of $52,512. The salary offered will be dependant on skills and experience.
