About our team/Mō te tīma

Our Dunedin based Payroll team are part of the HR Services team, within the Division of Shared Services. As a member of Shared Services, you will contribute to a team of highly skilled professional staff responsible for delivering an outstanding student and staff experience through high quality, effective service delivery to all of the University’s internal and external customers.

The role/Te mahi

As a Payroll Assistant Administrator, you will deliver a range of centralised payroll related services for staff across all our campuses in New Zealand. You will produce highly accurate outcomes within a technology based, regulated and confidential environment.

A strong customer service focus is critical to success in this role. You will enjoy being part of a team and bringing a flexible and adaptable approach to your work.

This role is part of the Payroll Services team and works closely with HR Administrators as part of the central HR Services team.

Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako

Successful candidates will have:

  • Proven experience in a busy administration environment where high levels of accuracy and confidentiality are expected.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional service to customers.
  • A natural ability to work collegially and flexibly within a deadline driven team.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of programmes.
  • Experience in payroll or finance and using an HRMIS or integrated payroll system is an advantage.

This is a fixed term role until 23 December 2022.

The role is variable hours with a guaranteed minimum of 18.75 hours per week. During peak periods, or to cover for absences, there is a requirement to work up to 37.5 hours per week. The peak periods are likely to be October to December.
