Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role
Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting Postgraduate Administrator to join the School of Design Innovation. The position is a part-time, (0.6FTE) fixed term position for 12 months and calls for a well-organised and efficient administrator with excellent people skills and attention to detail. The role is responsible for all administration related to our Masters and PhD students and involves supporting the students and academic staff, and liaising with other areas in the University such as the Faculty of Graduate Research.
Ō pūmanawa – About you
You will need to be comfortable working with a wide range of people including staff and students from the School of Design Innovation, and staff from the Faculty and across the wider University, along with external contacts and collaborators. You will have very good self-management skills and will also enjoy being part of a team in a fast-growing and often changeable environment. Excellent organisation and communication skills are key to this role along the ability to work to deadlines and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
Key Responsiblities:
- All administration related to postgraduate programme including maintaining all student records, progress reports, research proposals, and reviews.
- Scheduling student workshops and reviews, organising speakers, and catering as required
- Liaising with ITS and Faculty Technical Operations teams to ensure all requirements of the University Minimum Resources Agreement are met for students.
- Schedule and manage Master’s examinations.
- Co-ordinate the move from Provisional to Full Registration for PhD students.
- Liaison with Faculty of Graduate Research and other areas of University as needed.
- Orientation sessions for new postgraduate students.
- Ensuring all School policies and processes are in line with the University Master’s Regulations.
- Providing administrative support for targeted School postgraduate events such as the Postgraduate Information events.
- Administrative support for the School Research Committee including preparing monthly meeting Agendas, minutes and follow-up; distribution of documents to committee members, collating of member feedback, and follow up as required.
