New World Porirua offers the right applicant the opportunity to join a very friendly and successful Produce department. We are looking for an applicant who is customer service focused, mature, and reliable and who has an eye for quality.
Immediate Start Required
The Produce department is the first area our customers see, we are looking for an applicant that will ensure our first impression is always excellent, setting the standard for the rest of the supermarket.
The Job:
You will work alongside others who have a passion for quality fruits and vegetables. You will be required to assist in maintaining stock levels, rotating stock, trimming and preparing vegetables for display, while also managing the next day’s stock. Presentation and display of our products is of utmost importance, regular checks of the department and having an overview of its needs are paramount. This includes ensuring our prices are correct and we have advertised stock available at all times. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently is a must, you will have to use your initiative during our busiest times.
The Person:
We are looking for an applicant that is mature and level headed, is able to deal with pressure and is willing to take responsibility for their own work. We are looking for a person that moving forward can be relied upon to cover key staff when holidays are taken.
The Requirements:
You must be able to lift stock that can weigh over 20kgs, move pallets full of stock, this position requires physical strength. Previous experience in a produce department or supermarket would be an advantage, you must have a friendly and welcoming personality and be willing to help when needed.
The Hours
Monday 4pm to 7pm
Sunday 11am to 7pm
