About the opportunity:
Our client operates from a very modern facility in the Waikato, and they partner with a variety of industries including dairy, food processing, health care, energy and construction. The projects they work on are extremely varied and challenging, so this opportunity will offer an ambitious, focused individual the chance to step into a challenging role.
Role description:
You will be responsible for delivering high quality results across the breadth of the project lifecycle for a broad range of bespoke engineering projects. Your focus will be managing and commissioning innovative solutions, leading and developing your team to work in the most efficient and effective way possible.
Responsibilities will include:
- Quoting and estimating
- Draughting and design services
- Quality assurance and quality control
- Completion of BOM’s for purchasing department
- Assist with analysis of root causes for non-conformances and resolution of identified issues and report to Engineering Team Leader
- Manage nominated clients assigned to your Engineering Services portfolio
- Resource planning to ensure projects are completed within required timeframes, and to minimize downtime on major projects
- Track costs per project – work together with/coordinate various divisions/subcontractors involved in major projects
- Provide a single liaison point with nominated clients
- Development of work plans, HSE documents, JSEA’s etc
This role will suit someone with the following background / experience / qualities:
- A qualification in mechanical engineering or strong experience
- Previous design engineering experience
- Experience in the delivery of bespoke design build projects (tendering to commissioning)
- Solid mechanical engineering and problem solving skills
- Well-developed experience of 3D modelling software, preferably Solidworks
