Our Sexual Health and Cervical Screening Services has a permanent 0.5FTE Registered Nurse vacancy for an enthusiastic person looking to join a close-knit team.
Mō te tūranga | About the role
This position will best suit someone with a good sense of humour, and a high level of resilience. You will have the confidence to discuss all options relating to pregnancy and contraception.
You must be willing and able to actively participate in the after-hours sexual assault and treatment care roster and be interested in pursuing post graduate education and advancing your scope of practice to include prescribing.
This is a part-time (0.5FTE) and the days of work will be:
- Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
- Week 2: Tuesday and Wednesday
Each Wednesday (0.2FTE) is based at the Southland Sexual Health Service while the Cervical Screening (0.3FTE) component is working with our communities across the district.
Mōu ake | About you
You will be a competent Cervical Sample Taker, or willing to become a Cervical Sample Taker and have experience in assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of safe and appropriate patient centred nursing. As a self-motivated and professional nurse, you will have strong time management and organisational skills, and be adept at using computer systems. You will be able to work independently, problem solve and use your initiative.
Ideally, you will bring to this role an equity focus with previous experience working in Sexual Health, Cervical Screening and/or youth health. It is essential that you have excellent communication skills and the ability to support education within the community and of colleagues.

Utu whānui |Salary range
This role belongs to the NZNO Collective Agreement, Registered Nurse Scale and falls between the Step 1 ($59,834 p.a pro rata) and Step 7 ($83,186 p.a pro rata)
