The Role:
We currently have vacancies for Senior Care Workers across our residential aged care homes based in Gore and Invercargill.
The purpose of the role is to provide quality care-giving support to Residents in the facility and undertake senior care worker responsibilities which can include administration of medicines, health and safety promotion, infection control liaison and the training and supervision of other staff.
Shifts and hours are negotiable with part-time and full-time opportunities available.
Key responsibilities:
- Assisting residents with their personal needs e.g. eating meals, hydration, pressure area support, personal hygiene
- Encouraging residents to socially interact and take part in activities
- Accurately recording observations
- Providing direction for other staff to ensure residents needs are actively being met
- Distributing medications to residents
What you will need to be successful:
- Previous experience in a similar role in a rest home environment and/or New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Advanced Support (Level 4) qualification
- Sound clinical knowledge and skills including an understanding of current legislative requirements.
- Ability to work as part of and help motivate a team of dedicated care workers
