We are looking for a talented and motivated social science leader to embed social science into GNS Science programmes across all four Science Themes: Environment & Climate, Energy Futures, Natural Hazards & Risk and Land & Marine Geoscience. As our Senior Social Scientist, you will undertake fundamental and applied social science research in your field of expertise to support one or more of the above Themes. Outstanding social scientists who have the following skills and experience are encouraged to apply:

- An established reputation in your field of expertise and strong publication record
- Successful track record of delivering fundamental and/or applied research projects
- Leadership skills in project and research settings, with the ability to mentor less experienced staff
- Demonstrated ability to solve strategic issues in the context of developing a long-term vision.
While this is a permanent full-time role, we are also interested to hear from applicants wanting to work part-time, or who would consider a fixed term appointment or secondment opportunity.
This is an opportunity to be part of a great team at GNS Science.
