The Department
AskOtago, the University’s Contact Centre is the one-stop shop for all questions related to the University of Otago. You will play a key part in this team, working to assist University students, staff and visitors with their queries and questions regarding life and work at Otago.
AskOtago is part of the Division of Shared Services, a broader family of staff focused on delivering an outstanding student and staff experience through high quality, effective service delivery.
The role
We are recruiting enthusiastic and proactive people to join our team as Service Representatives. In these positions, you will be part of a dynamic team who are committed to providing an excellent customer experience.
You will work across a variety of channels to assist our customers. Using available information, you will understand the customer’s situation and provide a tailored service to ensure first contact resolution wherever appropriate.

Recruitment process
The University conducts regular recruitment and assessment events for the Services Representative roles. These are scheduled throughout the year and involve candidates spending time with the AskOtago team.
Once you have submitted your application through our recruitment system, we will assess your submission. You may then be invited to complete a skills assessment and, if applicable, reference checks will be requested. The final step of the selection process will include your attendance at an assessment centre to be held on Thursday, 5 May 2022.

Multiple permanent full-time positions exist within this team.
Customer service is integral to AskOtago; it is therefore important we are available to answer queries 7 days a week. AskOtago operating hours are 7am to 9pm, Monday to Friday and 8.30am to 6pm Saturday and Sunday.
Staff work on a rostered basis. Hours of work will be discussed at interview stage.
The University is committed to meeting its obligations under the Children’s Act 2014. Candidates who successfully make the final stages of the recruitment process will be required to undergo a safety check.
