The role
Your role is to assist the Head Chef in all aspects of the running of the restaurant including maintaining food standards, administration operations and meeting food hygiene and employment legislation. Some of your duties will include
•In the absence of the Head Chef you will be responsible for the management of the food and administration operation, maintaining the food costs, purchasing requirements and liaising with suppliers
•Responsible for training of kitchen staff
•To assist with the planning of the menus
•To assist with the daily running of the kitchen, purchasing, stock sheets as well as carrying out stock takes
•Ensure consistent high standards of food preparation, presentation and quality are maintained
The who
You’ll be a professional and dedicated chef who comes with at least 3 years experience in a similar role. You’ll have a back ground in semi fine dining and have sound knowledge of local and seasonal ingredients. Some key skills you’ll possess are
•Punctual, organised and trustworthy
•Professional appearance
•Ability to motivate staff
•Ability to solve problems and think-on-your-feet
•Willingness to take initiative and make decisions
