About the opportunity:
Our client specialises in critical-hygiene area engineering and is on the lookout for a new team member who is passionate about TIG welding, quality engineering and light fabrication.
Role description:
You will be working from start to finish on a range of stainless steel projects. Your ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and a good eye for detail will be essential in producing consistent, quality work.
Responsibilities will include:
- Read and interpret plans accurately to determine job requirements
- Read CAD drawings, shop drawings, schematics and manuals
- Cutting and shaping panels of sheet metal and aluminium and steel
- Ensure that all welds meet quality assurance standards
- Complete reports and documentation in a timely manner
- Some site work included
This role will suit someone with the following background / experience / qualities:
- Background in the trades – qualifications a bonus, but unqualified and willing to upskill will also be accepted
- Able to fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment, fabrication of pipework and general fabrication and site installation of factory machinery
- Understanding and experience of working in critical hygiene areas
- Use of drawing software and all other relevant computer or phone software would be advantageous but not essential
- Liaising with customers and suppliers in a professional manner
- Working with permit safety systems
- Willing to work overtime occasionally
