There is a broad base of items that are grown for the main shop based in Bay View Napier and weekend Farmers markets. The main shop in Bay View is a well-known destination store for quality fresh summer time products, real fruit ice cream, juice bar and preserves.
We are currently seeking to recruit staff to assist in the shop, packing of produce and working with the team to manage online orders. We are seeking, full time/part time staff to join our team for the current season as well as into the winter period as we prepare for another busy season next summer.
The job will entail
- Serving direct to the customer
- End of day transaction reconcile
- Preparing stock for the main shop and outside farmers markets
- Helping the day to day running of the shop/retail/online operations
- Often lifting articles of up to 20kg
- Some outside harvest work if needed
- Being part of a rostered rotation for weekend work (both Saturdays and Sundays)
This job requires flexibility and a commitment to hours and days to be available to work. We are looking for someone who is a team player, motivated and can cope under pressure when there are deadlines to meet.
This is a great job for someone with a passion for horticulture / sales and would like to be part of a team to create a fresh product available to the public of the highest quality. You will meet people from around the world as backpackers are employed to pick and work in both retail sections of the business during the peak season. Due to the nature of the job there will be many occasions to learn about the production of fruit from the planting stage to the pick as well as understanding and learning the skills to sell a quality product to the customer.
