Studio Manager
Pinot & Picasso is New Zealand’s #1 paint and sip experience. We show guests some of the basic techniques of painting on canvas, in a hassle-free, approachable and collaborative setting. Our guests enjoy a night of BYO wine and painting as our Pinot & Picasso hosts deliver sessions with easy-to-follow instructions. We are looking for a creatively minded, organised person to manage our studio to ensure the smooth running of operations and that all our guests leave having released their inner-Picasso.
The Studio Manager will have the flexibility of working from home or from our studio in New Plymouth. They will work approx. 15 hours a week and are able to set their own schedule. We will have regular discussions about the amount of hours needed to complete the assigned duties. The role has the potential to ebb and flow. For instance, the role might require 20 or 30 hours weekly in the early months or in busy seasons.
Responsibilities & Duties
The Studio Manager is the face of the Pinot & Picasso brand for guests, staff, and other local businesses. As the studio manager, your core responsibilities will be:
- hosting sessions in the studio (see Hosting Artist responsiblities & duties)
- rostering and communicating with staff
- managing studio operations, monitoring and ordering stock
- supervising and guiding staff towards maximum performance
- invoicing and paying
- managing email communication
- managing website procedures
- planning private events
- managing marketing and local partnerships
- managing caterer communication
Qualifications & Skills
A Pinot & Picasso Studio Manager requires some qualifications and experience. We are looking for someone who:
- has excellent communication and customer service skills
- has excellent organising and leadership skills
- has some administration or manager experience
- can work independently
- can teach basic painting skills with step-by-step instructions to people of all ages
- can lead a team, take on feedback and adapt to new environments
- is over the age of 18
- has a LCQ and Duty Manager License
