Position Information
Nepean Creative and Performing Arts High School is a comprehensive co–educational high school with a selective stream in the Creative and Preforming arts. The school is located in on the land of the Mulgoa clan of the Dharug peoples in Western Sydney and caters for a student population of 978 students including 8% Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students. We support students with additional learning needs through the provision of 5 Support Unit classes for 49 students. The school has an expansive curriculum that caters for the learning needs of our students across all learning pathways. Our highly trained and dedicated professional staff members are determined to ensure all students learn our school values of care, opportunity and succerss..
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach English 7-12. Experience of teaching Stage 6 English with a capacity to teach English Extension 1 and 2.
Evidence of exemplary teaching including the ability to design and implement innovative, differentiated and future focussed student learning programs to engage students across the learning continuum.
Ability to utilise evidence of student performance to effectively address the learning needs of a diverse range of students.
Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
