Position Information
Airds High School is a co-educational high school, in the Campbelltown Network of South West Sydney, operating under the Connected Communities Strategy. The school is committted to personal and academic achievement offering a broad academic and vocational curriculum, thus catering for students of all ability levels. The school enrolment is 522 students including; 146 Aboriginal students, 94 EAL/D students and 68 students in the Support Unit. The Support Unit caters for students with a range of intellectual disabilities including Mild And Moderate Disability, Multi-Category and Autism.

Specific Selection Criteria
1. Approval to teach Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, Sport, Lifestyle and Recreation and Community and Family Studies
2. Demonstrated ability in the development of high quality evidence based,teaching and learning programs and assessment to improve student engagement and achievement with a focus on improving Literacy and Numeracy.
3. Proven capacity to use effective classroom management skills and wellbeing practices to create PDHPE lessons that are dynamic, engaging, inclusive and foster a culture of high expectations.
4. Demonstrated high level interpersonal and organisational skills with the capacity to work collaboratively and coordinate school sports programs, carnivals and be a dynamic member of the PDHPE team.
5. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
