He angitūtanga: The opportunity

There’s never a dull moment at our busy and fun-filled pool facilities, and as a Lifeguard or Swim Instructor you will play a key part in ensuring that all customers have an enjoyable but safe experience.

For both roles, working with the public and especially with children will be essential.

He kōrero mōu: About you

• You’ll already have a love of the water, and be committed to supporting community safety and wellbeing.
• Previous experience as a Lifeguard or Swim Instructor is advantageous, but if you’re a confident swimmer looking to upskill we can support you with training.

• Having clear and effective communication skills is key, as is being practically-minded and using your initiative where required.

We have a variety of full time permanent (40 hours) and many part time (differing shifts) permanent roles available.

Our shifts are rostered across Monday to Sunday, both early morning and evening shifts.

We also encourage skillset development and as such you have the opportunity to add to your hours (if you are part time) by taking on other roles within the centre such as Recreation Assistants, Lifeguards and Customer Service Reps (please note you will need to work towards being qualified for the Lifeguard position)
