An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapy Assistant to join our Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Team within Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand Te Matau a Maui, Hawkes Bay. As a clinical support worker, you will be a key member of the team, facilitating rehabilitation to patients with complex needs following injury or illness. You will be based at the Sorts Park, working within the Hydrotherapy treatment facility.
You will be expected to work alongside Physiotherapists and to follow programmes of care prescribed by the Registered Therapist within a Hydrotherapy setting. You will also be an integral member of the wider multi-disciplinary team. It is envisaged the post will be split over five days from Monday through to Friday.
Key attributes for this post include excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, knowledge and understanding of the role of a physiotherapist and an occupational therapist in rehabilitation. Good administrative and time management skills are essential for the effective running of the Hydrotherapy sessions.
Experience of working within an allied health professional team or in a caring capacity or exercise knowledge would be advantageous. Opportunities for personal development and full training and support for the role will be given. In addition, the department offers a rolling in-service training programme.
