  • Based in Kaiwharawhara
  • Starting rate of $25.23 per hour (please note that payrate can be negotiated on level of experience and qualifications held)

Your Role:

  • You will be responsible for ensuring effective, reliable and efficient operations of all signalling assets
  • You will learn how to carry out electrical maintenance, installation, restoration and repair to KiwiRail quality and engineering standards
  • This role involves on the job training with the opportunity to study to further your career
  • You will be working in an environment were using initiative and problem solving is celebrated

Your Skills:

  • We are looking for people who have a mechanical aptitude, are willing to learn and who want to develop a long-term career.
  • You will be able to demonstrate the ability to follow safety guidelines whilst being results-driven in a team environment.

  • You will also be a strong communicator both verbally and written to ensure accurate information.
  • This is a great development opportunity where you will receive excellent on the job training alongside our current Signals team who are keen to pass on their skills and knowledge.
  • You will have a NCEA Level 1 in Maths, English and Science or equivalent
  • You will need a Full Class 1 driver’s licence

As a person, you will be reliable, enthusiastic and have a strong commitment to Health & Safety. If you are passionate about a career in rail and have the willingness to be part of a callout roster to attend to emergency failures after hours with the ability to work rostered shifts as required outside in all weather, then we would like to hear from you.
