We require a youth mentor coach to encourage mentors in facilitating group activities they’re skilled in at schools and agencies in Hawke’s Bay.
Every student needs opportunities to be understood and discover their unique skills and identity. Different activities give school principals creative ways to help children work out what they’re good at and increase self-confidence. Youth mentors create safe places and facilitate practical activities where children feel they can be trusted and belong. We offer regional wananga and team get-togethers where mentors and coaches interact, share positive experiences and collaborate to resolve work issues. By identifying youth mentors’ skills, you’ll facilitate new partnerships with schools and local agencies.
The position is part-time and requires a positive can-do attitude. A background in teaching is required. Facilitation or coaching skills would be an advantage.
Travel expenses are paid as well as an hourly rate.
