Anglican Care Waiapu (ACW), is the social services arm of the Anglican Diocese of Waiapu. Our services and programmes in the Bay of Plenty, Tairāwhiti, and Hawke’s Bay support tamariki, whānau, and communities with early childhood education, family services, grief services, and older people programmes.
After School @ St Luke’s offers an after school and holiday care programme in Havelock North. Our programme is approved and registered by the Ministry of Social Development as Out of School Care and Recreation (OSCAR) provider.
We offer safe, stimulating, fun environments for our school aged children including, one-on-one homework assistance, nutritious food, fun activities and games.
Mō te tūranga | About the role
After School @ St Luke’s are looking for someone to join their small professional team providing after school care and recreation to students aged 5-14 years based at St Luke’s church in Havelock North.
As the Programme Assistant you will assist the Supervisor with planning and organising fun, educational and stimulating activities aligned with the programme curriculum. You will foster a learning environment that is safe and encourages a growth mindset enriching the children socially, emotionally and physically.
Working Monday – Friday from 3pm – 6pm you will:
- Prepare and manage activity resources and materials
- Assist and encourage children during planned activities.
- Initiate unplanned activities and facilitate free play
- Supervise children
- Build strong relationships with children and parents/caregivers
Ko wai koe | About you
You will have experience in after school care or enjoy working with children. You’ll be someone who enjoys creating opportunities for children to explore, experiment and problem solve allowing them to grow to their full potential.
Your passion for children and learning will be underpinned by your natural to communicate and build strong nurturing relationships. You’ll have an endless amount of energy, creativity and enthusiasm which will see you become a valuable team player always willing to go the extra mile.
