Role: Analyst

Role type: Permanent, Part time (32 hours per week)

Location: Wellington

Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the Role

We are looking for versatile and flexible operational people who have strong analysis skills to join the Biosecurity Operational Policy Team. This is an exciting and varied role where the successful candidate will get the opportunity to work on a range of topics across the policy continuum from development through to implementation.

The Biosecurity Operational Policy team is a relatively new team within Biosecurity New Zealand and works closely with our Policy counterparts and the different operational units across Biosecurity New Zealand to achieve positive outcomes. We are part of a talented and motivated directorate, that supports flexible working and is based in the Wellington CBD.

We are particularly interested to hear from people who have a good understanding of the Biosecurity System in New Zealand and bring a strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and government’s obligations under it. Experience in policy analysis would be an advantage.

Mōu – About You

  • Ideally 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in establishing and effectively maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders, Maori and Government agencies.
  • Experience in project management.
  • An interest in working on topics that impact New Zealand’s Biosecurity

The position is in the Biosecurity Operational Policy Team within the Intelligence and Biosecurity Support Services Directorate. The Operational Policy Team undertake a range of Operational Policy projects to support Biosecurity New Zealand.

The team are a really diverse, supportive and fun group of people who acknowledge and celebrate one another’s achievements.
