Love fitness? Want to work in a fun environment?
The Selwyn Aquatic Centre is a highly valued community resource. Enjoy an active role where you will contribute to helping our community get fit! We have a permanent part-time position available for an energetic Aqua Fitness Instructor to join our fun team.
The centre offers a range of classes including Hydro Health (A low impact class designed to increase balance, flexibility, functional strength and coordination) and Hydro Tone (A gentle exercise class with stretches and resistance based activities in shallow water). We have one Hydro Health and one Hydro Tone class that we are seeking instructors for.
You will deliver classes at the below times
- Monday – 09.30am – 10.15am Hydro Tone
- Monday – 10:30am – 11.00am Hydro Health
Ideally, you would be able to cover both of the above shifts and also pick up other classes to provide cover when required. However, we will be open to applications where only one of the above shifts can be covered.
About you
You will have a minimum of one year’s group fitness teaching experience along with a genuine passion for the sport and recreation industry. A current first aid certificate and demonstrable experience preparing class content would be preferable.

We value the safety of our young people and therefore appointments for this role are subject to a satisfactory safety check including a police vetting process. The health and safety of our residents and staff remain the Selwyn District Councils top priority. We want our facilities and services to be accessible to as many people as possible which means that anyone entering or working at any Selwyn District Council site must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Successful candidates will also be required to provide a copy of their ‘My Vaccine Pass’ prior to receiving an employment offer.
